Had a pleasant stay for my next visit in San Francisco. My accommodation was set in a central location a short walk to the park. - the hotel was situated a 10-15 minute walk from antique cable cars. - the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, always there to help.

Our stay was very pleasant. We really enjoied the owners being so friendly and helpful. Our rooms were clean, with fridge, coffee maker, microwave. We had coffee available, tea and yogourt, cookies in the morning even thougfh there is not a room for breakfast. The location was very good, a few minutes walking time from the Trolleys. Very convenient stay for families and people willing to visit the town without spending a fortune. The owners kindness was outstanding and gave extra value to our stay. We found the reviews of previous guests very useful and quite accurate in describing the hotel.

Liked my such wonderful stay for a business trip. The room was cheap with super comfy beds, everything was nice. A microwave oven and fridges were a plus. The staff has always been accommodating, and the facilities were fantastic.

We arrived late but had previously let management know, but they were a little abrupt and the next morning at breakfast we were told in quite a short manner to take our breakfast outside in the cold, instead of being asked. Overall I was pleased with the room and facilities and the location and would stay there again, but the staff were hardly friendly as other people have stated on previous reviews.

Clean and spacious rooms, breakfast included. Great location in the centre of San Francisco. Everything important in walking distance from the hotel. Great and helpful guy at the front desk - very good explanation and tips&tricks for San Francisco during 5mins:-)

Poor breakfast - some pastries (e.g. toast bread) would be highly appreciated.

Castle Inn in San Francisco is my favorite place to stay. the hotel is fairly clean and the staff at the reception desk is attentive and very helpful. the queen room I stayed in had an incredibly comfortable bed and came with coffee, which was a nice touch.

Although not glamorous the Castle Inn provided the fundamentals at a reasonable price. Free parking is a real plus and the location was quite convenient in a city that is fairly easy to get around in. Damon (the hotelier on duty) was very helpful in pointing us in the right direction for sightseeing as well as eating etc. If you are looking for al the amenities of a 4 Star establishment at 2 Star rates this is not the place, but if you want the basics for a good price give it a try.

Our room had a bit of a musty odor (not cigarette smoke) which probably could have been eliminated/minimized with a mild "odor eater".

Good location, no extra charge for parking, decent sized room.

It would have been nice if the reception staff had warned us that the complimentary breakfast finished at 9am!

Breakfast was not really worth eating, but you don't expect much here anyway. There are a lot of places to have breakfast in the neighborhood.
